Monthly competition

The Monthly Competition gives our members the opportunity to show off their finest plants and share their growing expertise. And it’s not just pots of plants, there are classes for cut alpine flowers, and photographs and pictures of alpine plants in other media.

All the speakers we invite to our Group have commented on the high standard of plants that are exhibited, as well as how difficult it is to give one exhibit first prize over another!

Points gained by exhibitors are aggregated throughout the year and those with the highest scores in each section are awarded the President's Cup, the Novice Cup, or the Robert Amos Award.

Classes:

The Classes will remain the same each month, and are as follows:

· Class 1 Two pot plants -any alpines in flower (open)

· Class 2 One pot plant -any alpine in flower (open)

· Class 3 One pot plant -any alpine not in flower (open)

· Class 4 One pot plant -any alpine in flower (novice)

· Class 5 One pot plant -any alpine not in flower (novice)

· Class 6 One photograph of alpine(s)

· Class 7 One drawing or painting of alpine(s)

· Class 8 One item of needlework displaying alpine(s)

· Class 9 One vase or container of cut alpine flowers

· Class 10 One alpine floral arrangement
